10+1 Most Important Event Of The World

1. American War of Independance (1776-1783)


A group of 13 colonies water a war against the most powerful baton in the world- The British Empire - and won.


2. French Revolution (1789)


French was ruled by Louis XVI. He did not look after the welfare of his people. As a result, the people revolt the king. This devotion popularised the idea of equality, liberty and fraternity.


3. Battle Of Waterloo (1815)


The battle was fought in 1815, near Waterloo in present day Belgium. The French led by Napoleon, fought the combined armies of England, Prussia, Russia, and Austria. The French, howerver, lost the battle. The battle of Waterloo was one of the bloodiest in the modern history.

4. First War Of Indian Independent (1857-58)


In 1857, Indian sepoys serving in the British Army revolt against the British. Common people joined the soldier with the objective of ousting the British from India.


5. World War l (1914-1919)


The first world war was fought between the Allies and Central Powers. The Allies induced Britain, France, Italy, Russia and USA while the central power cinsisted of Germany, Austria, Hungary, The Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. It was the first modern war war fought with aeroplanes, machine guns amd tanks. Over 15 million lives were lost.

6.  World War ll (1939-1945)


The second world war started when the Hitler attacked Poland in 1939. The war led to a huge loss of life and property. The use of atom bombs to decimate Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan was one of the saddest aspect of the war.

7. The Holocaust 


Concentration camps were set up by Hitler to eliminate the Jews. The Jews were tortured amd then killed in these camps.

8. Hiroshima amd Nagasaki (1945)


The atom bombs, dropped by USA killed 66,000 people in Hiroshima (6 August) and 39,000 in Nagasaki (9 August). The day after the bombing Nagasaki, Japan surrendered, thus ending World War ll.

9. First Step on The Moon


On 20th July 1969, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin walked in the moon's surface, beginning the space exploration race.

10. Unification of Germany (1990)


In October 1990, Germany, which had been divided since 1945 into East amd West Germany, was reunity as one country. People broke down the Berlin wall that had for so long divide the country into two parts.

11. Election in South Africa (1994) 


On the May 1994, Nelson Mandela became the first black President of South Africa. It was the first election in which clblocks could votes.
